Speaking to a counsellor on your own gives you the confidential and secure space to really unravel what's troubling you. Counselling works in lots of different ways to help you find peace and find different perspectives that serve you better. This can be a powerful process when it unlocks new ways of feeling, thinking and behaving. Whether you wish to do a short piece of therapeutic work or unravel something over a longer term; counselling can be tailored to what helps. This can be done in regular sessions face to face, across telephone, webcam or email. Counselling begins with an assessment to help you understand how it can help.
Whatever your relationship is struggling with, counselling with your partner can move you to understanding more and work toward change. You'll attend regular sessions to learn to do this in a medium that suits you. Whether that's face to face, webcam telephone or email. It doesn't matter whether your relationship is short or long, married or not, heterosexual or relationship and/or gender diverse, or culturally diverse. Attend an assessment to explore how it can help. Couple counselling does involve the opportunity to speak to your counsellor in private as part of the focus on your relationship.
Young people's counselling (ages 11-21 years) is a private and safe space to talk about anything that's causing you emotional distress. I understand everyone is unique and solely talking isn't always helpful. In regular sessions, we can work in lots of different ways to support you to feel more comfortable. You can have as many or as few sessions as you like and you're in charge of what we explore. Parents aren't invited to lead your therapeutic work.
Children's (ages 6-10 years) counselling is an option parents may wish to consider when they want to give their little ones an opportunity to express themselves about something in their lives that's worrying them. In regular sessions I work creatively and in play with children and they lead their own way. Parents may attend the assessment session alone or join with their child.
Face to face counselling is available to adult individuals, couples, young people and children. I have a location in Newbold, Chesterfield S41 that's discrete and comfortable. Free parking is available. All services start with an assessment to determine how I can help and whether the services I offer are the most appropriate for you. Give me a call or message me via my contact page for more information.
Webcam counselling can be offered to adult individuals, couples and young people living in the UK. The service begins with an assessment session to explore how counselling can help and whether webcam is the best service for you. You don't have to be in the same location as your partner. I use a platform called Zoom which I've selected for how easy it is to use. You'll receive a weblink via email before your session. All you have to do is click the link and your computer should do the rest. Sessions last up to 50 minutes.
Telephone counselling is available for adults living in the UK whether you're wanting to access counselling as an adult individual or as a couple. It's easy and convenient and begins with an assessment session to determine whether it's the most appropriate service for you and to give you a better idea of how I can help. A session lasts up to 50 minutes. I will call your mobile or landline number at the time of your session and you don't have to be in the same location as your partner. Contact me for more information or to make an appointment.
Email counselling is for adults (individuals and couples) living in the UK. You have 500 words to write to me and I'll send you a response in 5 working days. My responses are equivalent to an in-person counselling session. We'll agree a password beforehand to keep our messages secure. Our sessions will begin with an assessment process to explore if working in text is the best process for you.
